Resource Description Framework

RDF is a completed W3C standard which provides a simple model for expressing the basic properties of web-based resources. RDF's metadata model enables the creation of simple data structures from which more meaningful information can be derived. The existence of a simple, standardized metadata format greatly simplifies the process of developing "intelligent" software applications that meet the Semantic Web's requirements for locating, accessing, querying, processing and exchanging data across a distributed heterogenous network.
